This project-based lesson explores how heavy metals, specifically lead from hunting ammunition and historical artifacts (like WWI projectiles), contaminate wetlands. Students will analyze the chemical-physical parameters of water and investigate how lead enters the food chain through oxidation and soil leaching. The lesson utilizes modern technology, including drones for water sampling and atomic spectroscopy for metal quantification, to provide a picture of water quality in three Italian rivers ( Esino, Cesano, Piave Rivers) and one rivers in Iceland.
